Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how GuardiStem, Inc. (“GuardiStem,” “we,” “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit guardistem.com and related pages (the “Site”), create a member account, contact us, or place a Priority Access deposit through the Site. By using the Site you acknowledge the practices described here.
Scope
This policy covers information collected through the Site. If you become a GuardiStem client, medical and treatment information collected during your consultation, collection procedure, processing and storage is governed by your client agreement and any separate notice of privacy practices we provide at that time, which will control if it conflicts with this policy.
Information we collect
Information you give us. This includes your name, email address, phone number and message when you use our contact form; your login email and password (handled by our platform provider) when you create a member account; any invite code you submit; and, for a gift deposit, the recipient’s name and email address. If you place a deposit, our checkout provider collects your billing name, address, email and payment details. GuardiStem does not receive or store full payment card numbers.
Information about your health. The Site does not ask for medical history. Please do not send us health information through the contact form or by email; we will collect what is needed during your consultation, under your client agreement.
Information collected automatically. When you visit, our hosting and platform providers automatically receive standard technical data such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page and the date and time of your visit. The Site uses your browser’s local storage to keep you signed in and to load pages faster, and our checkout provider may use cookies to complete a purchase. Fonts are delivered by Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when fonts load. Our log-in and sign-up forms use Google reCAPTCHA to block automated abuse; it collects information about your device and how you use the form, under Google’s own privacy policy. We do not use the Site for targeted advertising.
How we use information
- To provide the Site, manage member accounts and invitations, and keep access limited to invited guests;
- To process Priority Access deposits, gifts, credits and refunds, and to schedule appointments;
- To answer your questions and send updates you request;
- To maintain the security and integrity of the Site, prevent fraud and enforce our Terms of Use;
- To comply with law and respond to lawful requests; and
- To understand, in aggregate, how the Site is used so we can improve it.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only:
- With service providers who host the Site, provide member accounts, forms, customer-relationship tools and checkout (including Wix.com and its payment processors), and who are permitted to use it only to provide services to us;
- With the person you name when you give a gift deposit, to let them know about the gift and schedule their appointment;
- When required by law, subpoena or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of GuardiStem, our clients or others; and
- In connection with a merger, financing, acquisition or sale of all or part of our business, subject to this policy.
Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes above, including to maintain your account, honor deposits and storage benefits, and meet legal, tax and accounting obligations. When it is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, and our providers encrypt data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You may ask to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to obtain a copy of it, by emailing concierge@guardistem.com. You can unsubscribe from updates at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other states with consumer privacy laws, you may have additional rights, such as the right to opt out of the sale of personal information, targeted advertising or certain profiling (we do not engage in these), and the right to appeal a decision we make about your request. We will verify your request before acting on it, will respond within the time the law requires, and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with your written permission.
Washington and Nevada residents: we do not collect consumer health data through the Site. If that changes, we will publish a separate consumer health data privacy notice as required by those states’ laws.
Do Not Track
The Site does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, because we do not track visitors across other websites. Where state law requires us to honor a Global Privacy Control signal for opting out of sales or targeted advertising, we do so; as noted above, we do not sell personal information or engage in targeted advertising.
Children
The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 18 for account creation). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date and, for material changes, provide additional notice where required.
